Fighting Ransomware Since 1988
From the Morris Worm to modern ransomware.
37 years. Zero victims.
1988: The Morris Worm
On November 2, 1988, the internet changed forever. Robert Tappan Morris released what would become the first major worm to spread across the internet. Systems crashed. Universities went dark. Businesses ground to a halt.
I was there, fighting it.
That experience taught me something critical: Prevention beats recovery. Every. Single. Time.
The Morris Worm infected 10% of the internet (about 6,000 computers at the time). It caused millions in damage. But it also taught the world a lesson about cybersecurity that many still haven't learned:
If you wait until you're under attack, it's already too late.
The Track Record
Since that day in 1988, I've built a career on one principle: My clients never pay ransom.
Not because we're lucky. Not because ransomware hasn't targeted them. But because we build defenses that work.
From small NH businesses to critical infrastructure
Not one client has ever paid ransom
Through FBI InfraGard program
Since fighting the Morris Worm in 1988
FBI-Trained. Proven.
My background isn't just fighting viruses and worms. It's protecting the systems that keep society running:
- •FBI InfraGard: Trained 1,775+ professionals in critical infrastructure protection
- •Critical Infrastructure: Protected banks, hospitals, power companies, and government systems
- •New Hampshire Businesses: From manufacturing to analytical services - protecting local businesses across the state
- •CMMC Compliance: Helping businesses meet Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements
The Promise
Most cybersecurity companies promise to "reduce your risk" or offer "99% protection."
I promise you won't become a ransomware statistic.
Since 1988, I've kept that promise. To every single client. Through every evolution of ransomware. Through every new attack vector.
Zero clients ransomed. Not one. Not ever.
That's not marketing. That's mathematics.
What Clients Say
"With our previous MSP, we had ransomware that shut down our business for days. Since switching to Craig, we've had zero problems."
— John Lyons, President, Granite State Analytical Services
This is exactly why prevention beats recovery. Every single time.
"Craig and his team were able to keep us online without a sign of the ransomware. Our sister divisions were compromised for 2 weeks."
— Lucille Marston, IT Director, Hitachi Cable Manchester
"One of the things I've come to trust with Craig and Mainstream is that they're honest. They found issues our previous provider never caught."
— Sue, Office Manager, Federal DoD Subcontractor
